Sparkling winter's day on Sydney Harbour
Webmaster
With +18 Lasers competing in the DBSC's Winter Super Sprint Series, it was not only good racing but a perfect winter's day in Sydney: sunny, 27 degrees C and circa 10 knots of breeze. After a few mass starts, the standard rigs started separately from the radial/4.7 fleet.
The only downside was the potential hernia by our race officer of the day, The People's Prince, as he hauled up our mega-buoys while setting perfect sprint courses.
Missing from the action were Grasshopper 2.0, Marlena and Blake who travelling back from Kingston, Ontario, Canada where they represented DBSC at the World Youth Championships.
Saturday, 29 August 2015, should see a massive fleet for our first regatta for the season.
As always with DBSC regattas, the off-water activities are a massive part part of the success in large part to the Canteen Crew volunteers. There is a 99.999% chance that when you order one of the club's world class toasties that at least one of the people in the canteen will be called Paul, Deb, Andrea, Shirley, Carolyn or Tatiana.
