Learn to Race
LEARN TO RACE
DBSC is committed to the development of ILCA / Laser sailing by offering a “Learn To Race” program for sailors of 15 years and over with previous sailing experience. The program is open to existing Laser sailors who would like to improve their racing techniques such as starts and tactics, and those that are starting out in ILCA / Laser dinghies who would like to gain more confidence racing with a large competitive fleet.
The sessions include on-water and off-water training covering rigging, boat handling, sail trim, tactics, and race course management; coached by experienced ILCA / Laser sailors with representation at national and international regattas.
If you are not already a member at DBSC, we require that participants register for a Temporary SailPass membership with our club in order to be covered by the Australian Sailing Personal Injury Insurance Policy.
The program assumes participants have crewed or steered yachts or dinghies at a basic level. If you have no sailing experience, we recommend a Learn to Sail program at a recognised sailing school.
