PRO/COTD
PRO / COTD
A PRO and a COTD is required every Saturday we are racing. We do not operate on a Saturday without these volunteers.
PRO = Principal Race Officer. Controls the racing and the course.
LtRaR = Learn to Run a Race. Assists the PRO and learns how to run the races with the PRO.
COTD = Captain of the Day. Runs the on-shore activities for the day. Drives a RIB during racing. Assists the PRO on water as requested.
Co-COTD = Co-Captain of the Day. Assists the COTD with the task list as requested by the COTD.
All members are expected to perform either PRO, LtRaR, COTD or Co-COTD each time they are rostered to do so. Emails are sent out in advance of your rostered date (around 8 weeks prior). Members are encouraged to monitor their emails and the calendar and confirm by reply email to roster@dbsc.com.au. Please : If your name is shown in red confirm your attendance as soon as possible. In the event of a discrepancy, the emails sent to you are the ultimate source of truth.
If you need to change your allocated date please email roster@dbsc.com.au as soon as possible, but no later than at least four weeks before your duty. Every endeavour will be made to accommodate a change, but do not assume a swap is made until confirmed. The more notice that is provided, the higher the probability a change can be accommodated.
If an emergency arises and you have to cancel, ring Tim Heath (0417896676) as soon as you become aware of a problem.
Note that boat selection (i.e. usage of the Jazzman, Bergman and Paul Adam) is discussed in both the PRO and COTD Instructions.

Our library of training videos is constantly being worked on. You can find the latest versions here.
You will receive email(s) leading up to your rostered duties, so please keep an eye on your email and respond accordingly. It is a huge help if you respond in a timely manner.
