From our race management team Mark Lewkovitz and Geoff Boscoe:
It was a tricky day on the harbour with breeze ranging from west pre-racing through south for the first two races, then south-east and then to the east and a mixture of rain and sunshine. Chasing puffettes thrown off the cloud cells was the name of the game, as breeze ranged up and down from 3 to 10 knots. Five sprint races were managed by the race committee (Mark Lewkovitz and Geoff Boscoe) with Katie McHugh (COTD) and Cote Poncell (Co-COTD) assisting on water.
There was a solid turnout of standard rigs, radials and two young bloods on the 4.7s, joining us from Hunters Hill Sailing Club. Luke Parker dominated in the standard fleet with Geoff Kirk leading the rest of the fleet in hot pursuit, while James Tudball and Evie Saunders led the charge in the Radials.
A big thank you to Paul and Shirley who provision sailors with the world’s best toasties!
A reminder to all sailors that we transition into the summer season this weekend with Learn to Race, Club Championship Races 1 &2, and a barbecue on the deck for all sailors (including LTR attendees) and significant others.
The club’s calendar can be subscribed to here (strongly recommended).
