Race Report 19 February 2022

On Saturday Double Bay sailors ventured up the harbour for the VYC regatta which was held in a fickle and fading ESE with a large outgoing tide. Only two of the anticipated three races were able to be conducted with Sylvie Stannage winning in the radial fleet and David Newman winning in the standard fleet. At the end of racing, the fleet was towed back to DBSC for a late finish and hasty rack shuffle.
DBSC was supported by Tori Epworth and James Johnson, who did an excellent job of rounding up the troupes at the conclusion of racing. Off the water, Bonnie Nixon and Pia Hattersley assisted Paul and Shirley in the canteen. A special thanks also goes to Brett Beyer who was at the event and towed a number of Double Bay sailors home after racing.
Many thanks to VYC regatta who hosted the races under trying conditions. The full results are available here.
