It was another wild and woolly weekend for sailors at Double Bay with a 22-29 knot southerly for sprint racing.
David Newman (PRO) ran efficient racing with Richard George (LTRAR), Mark Gray (COTD), Bonnie Nixon (Co-COTD), Pia Hattersley and Milla Gray all assisting on water. Justin Davey was our responsible CSO, while Craig Sheers and Peter Collie were on hand to assist Paul and Shirley in the canteen.
Ultimately it was a game of survivor with only one last woman standing by the end of the fifth race.
Meanwhile, several of our Double Bay members attended the NSW & ACT Open State Championships at Georges River Sailing Club. After a brutal 2 days on the water, Sylvie Stannage won the radial event outright with Andrew Cox a noteworthy 5th place. Pat Levy (10th) and Mac Finlayson (21st) also represented the club in the radial fleet. In the standard rigs, coach Brett Beyer won the event with Daniel Costandi only one point behind in 2nd place. Mike Dunne (6th), Nick Pellow (7th), and Mark Louis (11th) also represented the club in the fleet.
