Given DBSC's pre-eminence in the global sailing community as the leading Laser club in the world, we have been asked to come up with a better name for the 4.7 class.

To this end, ISAF and ICLA have accepted the DBSC's recommendation for renaming the "Laser 4.7" as "Laser Sprogs".  Speaking at the Sail Melbourne event, where DBSC Yoof and Sprogs performed magnificently, ISAF President of Honour, His Majesty King Harald V of Norway, declared:

"Sprog has several different meanings, both nautical and demographical, and is an inspired choice by our comrades from DBSC.  We even like the idea of renaming the "Laser Radial" to "Laser Yoof", but it isn't appropriate as many of the Radial sailors are over the age of 23 and their prefrontal cortex have stopped improving.

DBSC is the most progressive sailing club in the world and we value their input."

Results for Sail Melbourne can be found here.  Great effort by all the DBSCers, and particularly Grasshopper 2.0 winning the Laser Yoof and Grasshopper 3.0 winning the Laser Sprogs.

Official report follows.....

4 days scheduled racing Port Phillip Bay - Day 1 -  blown out with massive 40 knot winds, Day 2 - still honking but 3 races completed, Day 3- good breeze for the sailors with 3 more races and final day - fickle light breeze but good enough to get 2 more races in for our DBSC superstars!
